Dr Pradeep Samarakoon
Qualifications - MBBS FRACGP
Dr Pradeep Samarakoon brings over 20 years of experience to our team, after studying a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka in 1997. Over the years, he has worked in the United Kingdom as a General Practitioner and Paediatrician, before relocating to Australia to commence his career in General Practice.
Dr Pradeep was located at our Springwood Family Medical centre and helped to guide and support the team during the COVID pandemic, with a calm and structured approach.
He has a keen interest in children's health with his training as a Paediatrician, men's health, mental health and caring for the elderly and is well respected by his patients and colleagues for his experience and how he manages his patients care.
As Dr Pradeep has family in Sri Lanka, he will be going on extended leave to return home to be with his family and we are unsure of his return date. In true Dr Pradeep style, he has been notifying all of his patients of the reason for his extended leave, has recommended other GP's to help his patients based on their care level and our other GP's qualifications, as well as doing a clinical handover before he sets off.
